Maxie’s lessons have been critical for my development as a drummer. They help me progress in the directions I need in order to keep improving. Also they've inspired me to start giving lessons myself and have been monumentally helpful in getting me set up as a tutor. I really appreciate everything and am looking forward to my future lessons and teaching!

Maxie has been teaching our son for 5 years. They are an outstanding teacher and musician. Highly dedicated and professional but also tactful and incredibly enthusiastic, they manage to get the best of their students. Each lesson is carefully planned and goals are achieved whether they are for academic or pleasure purposes. They pass their love for music on and turns each lesson into a special and happy moment! As Maxie is also a professional musician, they have an acute sense of how to play, learn and teach music nowadays. Our 17 year old son loves his lessons and has chosen to now pursue a career in music. He did his work experience shadowing Maxie and has started teaching some students of his own under Maxie’s mentorship.

Maxie is a powerhouse of energy, enthusiasm, experience and deep-seated knowledge (combined with infinite patience). They intuitively tap into my drumming level and progress and tailors each lesson to perfectly match my needs and mission. Every lesson with them is simply joyous and I leave with exciting and constructive tools for my drumming journey and a smile on my face! Drumming is Maxie’s raison d’etre and their passion is highly infectious and inspirational. I cannot commend them highly enough as a teacher!

Maxie is the best teacher and an amazing drummer. Really supportive and encouraging whilst being firm and clear. Teaches essentials but adds key details for style and feel. Also has fantastic energy and good vibes all round. Highly recommend.

You make two friends when you have a lesson with Maxie; one is Maxie themself who instantly surrounds you with their charm, sense of humour and their encyclopaedic understanding of the drums. They understand the instrument entirely and they also understand you and what you need. The other friend is the drumkit itself, you will love keeping company with this instrument. Maxie’s warmth encourages you to be the best drummer you can be. I myself have a physical disability but Maxie gives you the chance to feel enabled and not so disabled. Maxie gets such a thrill from helping you discover the drummer inside of you and that’s an experience I would wholeheartedly recommend.
